We are proposing to enrol The North Howe Transition Toun as an Environmental Body with Entrust. This would allow us to access funds from The Fife Environment Trust who are the body in Fife which manage the distribution of the landfill tax fund. Locally there has already been great benefit to the community using this fund with a contribution of £30,000 awarded to the Secret Garden Outdoor Nursery for the Letham Park Project.

To enrol with Entrust we have to make a minor change to the objects of our Articles of Association. It is proposed to insert an additional Object of the Company:  ‘The provision, maintenance or improvement of a public park or other public amenity in the vicinity of a landfill site, where it is for the protection of the environment.’

This will allow us to register specific projects with Entrust and then in turn apply for funding. continue reading…

If you can’t wait until then keep an eye on our website for details of this and our other projects.

We are always on the look out for innovative ways to change to way we travel and use cars. One site we thought we would like to share with you is www.whipcar.com . This offers an interesting option for sharing cars within the community by allowing to you hire cars from people within the community, maybe even your neighbour. Take a look and the website and see if it might suit you.

To support this we’ve decided to have a daily email which will send subscribers a list of any new posts. No new posts- no new email.

We’ve had to find a balance between informing subscribers as soon as a fresh produce is available for sale/barter and inundating people with emails. Its a difficult call and if you think we’ve got it wrong (ie too m

any emails, please let us know through the forum’s Help and Support Section).

This is a separate mailing list to the NHTT Bulletin so if you’d like to subscribe to it please follow this link www.nhtt.org.uk/-xc
