We are all aware of the ever increasing cost of energy to run our homes. This affects us all financially and as well as contributing to global warming. We are a group of local people who wish to reduce our energy bills and work towards an energy efficient community.
As part of the NHTT community organisation, the Energy Group has a programme of projects funded through the Scottish Government’s Climate Challenge Fund.
OUR CURRENT PROJECTS INCLUDE:
COMMUNITY SURVEY
A simple energy questionnaire that will provide a snapshot of our
community’s energy use and provide an individual energy report to
each house.
CaRB PROJECT
An 18-month programme that will help home owners and businesses
impliment the most cost effective way to improve the energy
performance of their buildings. There are also initiatives for the school
and community buildings.
Using the survey results the CaRB team have been working hard to develop a ‘toolkit’ of the best ways to improve the energy efficiency of homes in our area, thus cutting your carbon footprint and your energy bills. We posted a copy of the Toolkit out to each household in the NHTT area.
SMART MONITORS
A free monitor to homes taking part in the survey, our first step to
understanding how much energy is being used as its being used.
CURRENTLY IN DEVELOPMENT
A feasibility study for a social enterprise to provide insulation, draught
proofing, glazing improvements and further energy saving measures.
YOUR ENERGY CHAMPIONS
Our 4 energy champions are local people, trained to give energy advice. They are here to help you find and implement the measures that best suit your circumstance. You can contact them by getting in touch with Louise call 07879996845:
