The North Howe Transition Toun Food Group, in partnership with Monimail Tower Project has created a small scale Green Library which contains books to help us relearn the skills required to live more sustainable lives and prepare ourselves for a post peak oil world.
There are a range of books, some categories as follows: Growing, Smallholding, Preserving, Permaculture, Brewing, Cooking, Crafts, Peak Oil, Transition, Energy, Eco Building, Heart & Soul & Children’s section. Click on the below links to view our catalogue:
The library is situated in the ancient and wonderfully aesthetic Blue Room in Monimail Tower. Please remember to take off
your shoes before you go in! Also the Blue Room sometimes has things going on so please be courteous and be aware that you might have to pop back at another time!
To use the library you need to become a member. Like any library there are rules – not many, but we do ask that you abide by them! In the library there is a booking out and in log, a wee comments book & a wee photocopier. Please note – some books have been donated to the library as reference books only – these are highlighted as such – you can’t take those ones away, but you can read them or copy wee bits of them using the wee copier. There is a cost per sheet of copying. Details will be at copier.
