Now that we have come to the end of our CCF funded food projects Hayley has put together a fantastic report which gives a summary of all the great work the food group has done over the last 2 years. There has certainly been a lot of food activity from Food Festivals, bartering and workshops to the opening of our Green Library in partnership with Monimail Tower Project.

Take  a trip down memory lane by downloading the report and remember your favourite NHTT foody moments so far.

FOOD GROUP FINAL REPORT

We have also calculated that the carbon savings as a result of these food projects are 40.3 tCO2e over the 2 year project duration. The detail of the carbon calculations can be found in the below report :

As you all know the Transport Group has been busy carrying out feasibility work over the past 18 months looking into upgrading paths and installing bike parking throughout the NHTT area. We are delighted to announce that we have been formally offered funding from Leader in Fife and the Fife Environment Trust.  The total cost of Paths to Transition Phase 1 will be £103,861.18 and we hope to get things started as soon as possible so keep and eye on future bulletins.  Louise will be posting more details about the project on our Transport page soon.

The work done so far has been carried out thanks to the funding we received in 2009 from the Climate Challenge fund. If you would to find out a bit more about the work that the transport group have been doing on these CCF funded projects their final report is available to download by clicking on below.

On Saturday Louise, John and Neil attended Collessie Coffee morning. We had not been able to get into Fisher Donaldson on Friday and had instead congregated at Jeans for an enjoyable days baking.

Unfortunately the bread we made there went wrong and we reckon the yeast had failed to work. Following lots of Friday evening text messaging we rallied round and baked off some more bread. John even set his alarm for 5am to bake some more! As it turned out the snow meant that turn out was lower than anticipated so we had enough samples and everyone loved the bread, so a big sigh there.

We had a great time at the coffee morning with lots of great positive comments and support for a community bakery. We are currently speaking to the Collessie Hall committee about the idea of getting things started in their kitchen. We have sourced some great second hand equipment and Neil and John are off to pick up our steel workbench on Monday. We have had an initial meeting with environmental health in the hall so know what we have to do to make it all happen. The hall are having their AGM in May where decisions will be made.
